Is Monekypox the new covid-19? That is the question people have been asking around the globe. The answer to that is not far-fetched as the dynamics of actions suggest a similar pattern to covid-19. In the past, we were told that monkeypox was not a significant concern because it was so difficult to spread it from person to person. Well, it seems that may soon change.

Dr Amesh Adalja, an infectious disease expert at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, also told DailyMail.com that the virus is spreading via physical touch – and that it only spreads through respiratory droplets in the air in people that are already exhibiting symptoms.
The tropical virus, which is usually only found in Africa, has now been identified in eleven nations. Monkeypox was first discovered in 1958 and the first human case was reported in 1970. Symptoms include fever, headache, body aches, exhaustion and a rash that spreads across the body. The virus has now been discovered in a number more nations. The case fatality ratio is roughly 3%, according to the WHO.
The World Health Organization is now in a race to convene an emergency monkeypox meeting amid growing fears about the worldwide outbreak. This is as Germany becomes the 11th country to record a case of the tropical virus.Germany and Belgium became the latest countries to report instances of monkeypox, while France and Australia ,UK confirmed that individuals had tested positive.
There are reports that the disease may be prevalent in gay or bisexual men because most British and Spanish cases are gay or bisexual men, which officials say is 'highly suggestive of spread in sexual networks'. However, the sexuality of patients in other countries has not been disclosed.
Vaccines are now on the agenda, and it is being reported by MainOnline that countries have started stockpiling vaccines.

In the United States, the vaccine is marketed as Jynneos and has a label that clearly mentions monkeypox.
The U.S government has ordered millions of doses of a vaccine that protects against the virus.Bavarian Nordic, the biotech company that makes the vaccine, has announced a $119 million order placed by the U.S., with the option to buy $180 million more if it wants.
According to an El Pas story, the Spanish Ministry of Health is finalising the arrangements to begin purchasing thousands of doses of the smallpox vaccine, which has also proven beneficial in the battle against smallpox in monkeys, a disease that has recently arisen in Europe.
Smallpox immunizations may help protect against monkeypox because the monkeypox virus is closely related to the variola virus that causes smallpox, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
