Graft and Corruption has been the elephant in the room in most African countries in their conversation about Africa’s growth and development. This has led to detrimental effects hence the need to tackle graft as soon as yesterday. Graft and corruption continue to stifle investment and growth in Africa with only eight of 49 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa projecting scores above 43 according to the Corruption Perceptions Index. While many African countries cite the high cost of implementing technology in fighting corruption, it is the only viable way out of the challenge and makes economic sense in the long-term. Digital technology and forensics in the fight against corruption should, however, be accompanied by supporting legal framework and effective law-enforcement capacity. Given that public tenders are a hotspot for graft and corruption in Africa, this article provides various measures that can be implemented to enhance transparency of state tenders. In conclusion, this piece is a golden piece for any government, policymaker, leaders with an honest desire to root-out corruption.
