POEM : A NEW AFRICA
By Francis Agamah
*****
I walk on her rich soils and saw her marvellous beaches.
I experience the naturalness of her environment and the friendliness of her people.
I listen to the thundering of her sea and the beauty of her golden beaches.
I gaze at her beautiful flora and fauna; the chirruping of her birds Surrounded by Spathodea campanulata and Adenium obesum.
She's a continent.
She's a new Africa.
An Africa devoid of filth, poverty and diseases, Xenophobia, civil conflicts and Tribalism.
I saw an Africa where they eat what they produce and produce what they eat.
An Africa where hungry children and beggars do not roam the streets
Yes, I saw a new Africa. I saw An Africa where all the 55 States unite to share their natural resources for the betterment of the continent.
I saw an Africa where people have an innovative, creative and scientific mindset
I saw An Africa that has high profile philosophers, Politicians, Scientist, Teachers, Engineers that bring about innovative ideas.
Yes, I saw a New Africa that is an Industrial hub. Where cars, Robots, Aeroplanes, Bikes and Computers are manufactured.
I saw a new Africa
An Africa with good roads and clean environment.
An Africa who had men willing to stay home than travel abroad for greener pastures
An Africa full of patriots An Africa that is self dependent.
I saw a new Africa
An Africa United by politics, tribes and religion.
An Africa where fellow Africans respect one another.
An Africa that respect her identity and culture.
An Africa whose dwellers are proud to be called Africans and proud to be black.
An Africa where people eat their own food and wear their own clothes.
An Africa where they appreciate their own music and watch their own movies.
An Africa whose leaders have their own minds
And are trailblazers for the coming youth An Africa where religion do not enslave the minds of people.
And culture is not used to perpetuate human right abuse. Yes, I saw her. She is a Beautiful Africa.
