*EFFERVESCENT FATHER*
Was not even six,
When mother the bucket kicked,
How you seemed so lost,
Indistinct and far indeed;
My mind was little and still so small,
I didn't know how you felt indeed,
But you stayed by me to placate my soul's hunger disease.
Depression got the best of thee,
But for my sake you tried to beat it still,
Lost your job because you hurt;
Father, there was nothing you never did for me;
Paucity was far from me,
You ensured that all was begotten for me,
Sickness bedeviled me,
As you carried my world on your shoulders,
Oh dear father, your tireless efforts are now repaying.
You fell Ill,
But made me not to notice,
Said it will be bad for both of us to get sick,
Thus, you suffered in silence,
Whilst I was healthy,
Dearest father there's none effervescent as thee,
Vivacious as a tiger,
Strong willed and so interested in my problem that you forgot your burden.
Dearest Father,
Please accept this token of appreciation,
You've done well and even deserve a nation,
Carried blocks around whilst I went to school,
Sold sachet water in a bid to finance my school,
Lots of things you've done that i can't recount enough,
But before you give your last cough,
Please accept this token of appreciation of my love..
