Rethinking Nigeria's Development Model: the Chinese Option

The article states that while the fundamental principles and directive policies of the state in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria enjoin the state to control the economy, the country has adopted a market-based approach which has rolled back the state. The article calls for the interogation of the Chinese model which is state-centred in order to adapt it as an alternative model of development within the dynamics of the socio-economic realities of the Nigerian state.
