An African Studies lecturer at University of Ghana, Dr Obadele Kambon, has described the Christian Bible, specifically, the Old Testament, as a collection of plagiarised thoughts of other people. Dr Obadele Kambon, a lecturer in the African Studies Department at the University of Ghana, has described the Holy Bible of Christians as nothing but "a false book wholly based on plagiarized texts, lies and deceit". According to the report available to YEN.com.gh, Dr Kambon was speaking on an online radio when he made the comments. The scholar argued that some biblical concepts, doctrines and text were copied from the ‘Egyptian pyramid text’, ‘the coffin texts’, ‘Egyptian book of coming forth by day’ and the ‘instruction of Amenemope’ which form some of the world’s oldest spiritual texts.
Dr Kambon was quoted by Therealafrican.com as saying:
“We can still go and read it carved in stones, Over 5,000 years ago, there’s a depiction of the Immaculate Conception in the temple of Seti I, also Imhotep overseeing the birth of the “savior” in temples in Kemmet (Egypt).
The adulteration of the real story was during the Hyksos (people of mixed race from Europe and Asia) invasion of Egypt in 1700 BC.” While speaking further Dr Kambon quoted some certain scriptures from the Bible, which he claimed are renditions of ancient Egyptian thoughts and works.
Proverbs 23 featured prominently in his examples of scriptures that he claimed were adopted. Dr Kambon then suggested that the Bible is part of a history of ploys by certain non-African people who seek to remake the world in their image.
He, therefore, encouraged Africans to move away from believing what he describes as fairy tales and beliefs to deal with historical documentation only.
This article was published last year but I have decided to curate it because I believe it is now time for Africans/Black people worldwide to start recognising the fact that they have been lied to and deceived for years. Religion is the BIG elephant in African countries. Nearly all Africans believe in the bible, and that a man named “Jesus” died for their sins and that he also actually walked on this earth, raised the dead, fed thousands of people with few loafs of bread and fish. These are some of the stories that still reside in the minds of many Africans and are passed onto future generation, whereas logic, reasons and available evidence have shown that these stories are unreal.
In fact Religion is based primarily and mainly upon fear. It is partly the terror of the unknown and partly the wish to feel that you have a kind of elder brother who will stand by you in all your troubles and disputes. Fear is the basis of the whole thing – fear of the mysterious, fear of defeat, fear of death. I would like to encourage Africans to research religion and apply critical thinking to this subject. They should validate claims in the bible. I belive some people may have researched it and are using it to make money by setting up churches and benefitting from the ignorance of their followers .Africans wake up. Religion is slavery, it is the sole reason why Africa remains at the back of the queue. It is called mental slavery
