Why Deltans are against herdsmen

Deltans are currently in a log of war with herdsmen following the death of several Deltans in uwheru in Ughelli. The victims who were farmers were mostly women. One of the corpses was burnt beyond recognition prompting urhrobo progressive union to issue warnings to herdsmen to vacate urhrobo land with immediate effect. Herdsmen subsequently, have started moving towards uhronigbe, an Edo community with boundaries close to Delta state. Some herdsmen have also moved toward Agbor, a more liberal part of Delta where there is a large cattle market, arguably the biggest in the state, reputed to be where almost 100 cows are slaughtered there daily As many communities begin the banning of eating cow meat and kpomo as well as any product or products from cows, there are no possibilities that Agbor kingdom will ban cows. Some kingdoms in Delta state have placed curses on anyone who will eat cow meat or trade on it in their kingdoms. For example, uwheru and Olomu kingdom have totally banned anything called cow.

The killings of these innocent people have really spurred Deltans into action. Recently, the corpses of those killed by herdsmen were buried after they were initially exhumed as evidence against the herdsmen. The herdsmen killed them and buried them in shallow graves and in sand. It was when the soldiers denied that herdsmen killed anyone that the corpses were exhumed. Now Deltans are saying that if the government refuses to prosecute the herdsmen, they will surely retaliate and wait for the consequences
